New Airports Planned in Adilabad and Nagarjuna Sagar Under UDAN 2.0 Scheme
Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu announced potential new airports in Adilabad, Telangana, and Nagarjuna Sagar, Andhra Pradesh, under the UDAN 2.0 scheme. The initiative aims to upgrade existing airstrips and enhance regional connectivity, including flight services from Kurnool and Kadapa to major cities. A total of Rs 28,000 crore has been allocated for the scheme, with Rs 12,000 crore dedicated to developing 100 airports and Rs 3,500 crore for 200 heliports.

The UDAN 2.0 scheme could lead to the establishment of new airports in Adilabad, Telangana, and Nagarjuna Sagar, Andhra Pradesh, as announced by Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. This initiative allows for upgrading airstrips and improving regional connectivity, including flight services from Kurnool and Kadapa to Delhi.
The scheme has an allocation of Rs 28,000 crore, with Rs 12,000 crore for 100 airports and Rs 3,500 crore for 200 heliports. The minister clarified that they do not intend to take over the Adilabad Air Force airstrip but will acquire land for a new airport.
