New Fortress Energy Secures Long-term Lease for Santa Catarina LNG Terminal in Brazil
New Fortress Energy (NFE) has finalized a long-term lease for the Terminal de Gás Sul (TGS) LNG import terminal in Brazil, set to commence in August 2026. This facility is projected to generate $50 million in annual EBITDA by 2027, enhancing NFE's growth in the region's power sector.

New Fortress Energy has secured a long-term lease and capacity agreement for its Terminal de Gás Sul (TGS) LNG import terminal in Santa Catarina, Brazil, which will begin operations in August 2026. The terminal has a capacity of approximately six million tonnes per annum and can deliver up to 500 million standard cubic feet per day.
It is strategically linked to the Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil pipeline via a 33km pipeline, ensuring essential natural gas access for power generation in southern Brazil. The terminal is expected to generate $50 million in annual EBITDA by 2027 while supporting the UTE Lins 2 power project, scheduled for operation in 2031.
The combination of immediate cash flow and future energy projects positions TGS as a critical asset for NFE's LNG-to-power operations. Potential risks include reliance on regional energy demands and the integration of new projects.
