New Hampshire Cooling Assistance Programs for Residents This Summer
New Hampshire offers various programs to assist residents with cooling costs, including NHSaves rebates and Project CoolAir for seniors. These initiatives aim to enhance energy efficiency and provide financial relief amid rising temperatures.

New Hampshire's NHSaves program provides rebates for air conditioning units, including $50 for recycling old units and $20 for purchasing ENERGY STAR certified models, limited to two rebates per household per year. Additionally, rebates are available for installing central air conditioning or heat pumps, offering $70 to $2,000 based on energy efficiency.
The Electric Assistance Program provides discounts on electric bills for over 30,000 households based on income, with discounts ranging from 5% to 86%. Rockingham County's Project CoolAir offers air conditioning units to low-income seniors, while the Monadnock Sustainability Hub's Electrify Monadnock Fund supports energy efficiency projects with potential rebates up to $7,000. These initiatives are critical for improving home energy affordability and addressing health needs during hot weather.
