Capt. Zachary Smith has been appointed as the director of the ROTC program at Murray State University, bringing extensive NATO experience. His leadership is expected to enhance the development of future Army officers.

Capt. Zachary Smith is the newly appointed director of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) at Murray State University, effective immediately. He was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in May 2018 and has completed various military assignments, including a deployment to Poland as part of NATO operations.
Smith's previous roles include serving at Rose Barracks, Germany, and Fort Stewart, Georgia, where he commanded Centurion Company for 22 months. His military training includes several leadership courses, and he has received multiple awards. The ROTC program is part of the Center for Adult and Regional Education at Murray State, which aims to prepare cadets for military service.
