New Wave Design Launches V3211 Small Form Factor SOM with AMD Versal AI Edge Gen 2 SoC
New Wave Design has introduced the V3211, a small form factor System on Module (SOM) designed for the aerospace and defense sectors, featuring AMD's Versal® AI Edge Gen 2 Adaptive SoC. The module supports high-resolution displays and advanced image processing, with a rugged design priced around $5,000, and is capable of integrating into various systems, including VNX+ and VPX formats, while supporting up to 64GB of LPDDR5 memory.

New Wave Design has announced the V3211, a small form factor System on Module (SOM) targeting the aerospace and defense embedded computing market, featuring AMD's Versal® AI Edge Gen 2 Adaptive SoC. The V3211 leverages the VITA 93 open technology standard in a double-width QMC configuration, suitable for applications such as drones and ground vehicle computers.
Key features include a single-chip architecture integrating ARM CPUs, GPUs, and AI accelerators, delivering over 200k DMIPs, with support for high-resolution display applications and advanced image processing. The module is rugged, with pricing starting around $5,000, and supports up to 64GB of LPDDR5 memory. It is deployable in various systems including VNX+ and VPX formats, aimed at SWaP-C sensitive applications.
