Ng Chee Khern Appointed New Head of Iseas-Yusof Ishak Institute in Singapore
Ng Chee Khern will succeed Choi Shing Kwok as the head of the Iseas-Yusof Ishak Institute on April 1, 2026. Choi, who has led the institute for eight years, will transition to an advisory role. Ng, a former air force chief, has had a distinguished civil service career, including roles in the Ministry of Manpower and the Prime Minister's Office.

Ng Chee Khern will take over as the head of the Iseas-Yusof Ishak Institute on April 1, 2026, following Choi Shing Kwok's departure on March 31. Choi has directed the institute for eight years and will become an adviser for the Asean Studies Centre and the Climate Change in South-east Asia programme. Ng served as permanent secretary at the Ministry of Manpower from 2022 to 2025 and has held various key positions in the civil service, including chief of air force from 2006 to 2009, and permanent secretary for Smart Nation and Digital Government from 2017 to 2022.
