NGK and Kyoto Fusioneering Collaborate on FLiBe for Fusion Energy
NGK Corporation and Kyoto Fusioneering have partnered to develop FLiBe, a key material for fusion energy applications. This collaboration aims to establish a supply chain and technological foundation critical for advancing fusion power commercialization.

NGK Corporation and Kyoto Fusioneering (KF) are collaborating to develop FLiBe, a molten salt essential for future fusion power plants. This partnership focuses on creating a reliable supply chain and technological base for fusion energy, which will enhance energy security and aid in decarbonization efforts.
NGK will oversee raw material sourcing and operations, while KF is responsible for engineering design and evaluation of fusion-grade FLiBe. The initiative addresses the need for advanced expertise in beryllium handling and molten salt systems, leveraging NGK's extensive experience in beryllium materials and KF's fusion engineering expertise. This collaboration is pivotal for the broader implementation of fusion energy technologies.
