NHAI to Construct 750-Metre Underpass at Sadahalli Junction in Bengaluru
DEFENSE
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing a 750-metre, six-lane underpass at Sadahalli junction on Ballari Road to eliminate the last traffic signal leading to Kempegowda International Airport. The Rs 35-crore project will involve traffic diversions for about two years.
Before the diversion, service roads will be widened. Work is set to begin in February after previous delays due to design flaws. Additionally, NHAI is upgrading infrastructure by laying a 1km-long service road near Yelahanka Air Force Station, costing Rs 70 crore. These improvements aim to ensure smooth traffic flow on KIA Road.
