Nigeria LNG Limited's Economic Contributions and Initiatives
Since its inception in 1999, Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has significantly impacted Nigeria's economy, contributing approximately USD 18 billion in dividends and USD 9 billion in taxes to the federal government. The company has also generated extensive foreign direct investment and created over 12,000 jobs during construction phases.

Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has contributed about 4% to Nigeria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) since 2008, with its share estimated at 1% following GDP rebasing in 2014. The company has paid about USD 15 billion to the Federal Government via its shareholding in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for feedgas.
NLNG's assets total around USD 17.5 billion, with 51% held by international oil companies. Through the Finima Legacy Project, local contractors received investments to enhance operational capacity. NLNG's domestic LPG supply initiative has improved affordability and availability of cooking gas, supporting a cleaner energy transition.
Environmental efforts include reducing gas flaring from 65% to 20%. The Nigerianisation scheme has resulted in a 100% Nigerian senior management team and 95% Nigerian staff, aiding in unemployment reduction.
