At the 2026 SAHA Defense and Aerospace Exhibition in Istanbul, Turkey, Nigeria's Minister of State for Defense, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, emphasized the importance of indigenous defense production through DICON-D7G. The firm showcased locally manufactured military equipment, indicating a strategic shift towards self-sufficiency in defense.
Matawalle encouraged international defense firms to consider establishing production plants in Nigeria, reflecting the nation's expanding military industrial capacity. This initiative supports the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aiming to enhance local military hardware production for armed forces and paramilitary agencies.
