Nigerian Air Force Kills 50 Bandits in Coordinated Airstrikes in Katsina and Kano States

DEFENSE

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed at least 50 bandits in a coordinated air operation across Katsina and Kano states. The airstrikes targeted areas in Musawa, Matazu, and Danmusa local government areas of Katsina, as well as the Tsanyawa axis in Kano.

The operation was intelligence-driven, based on information from repentant bandits. The casualties were affiliated with notorious bandit leader Baidu, who has resisted peace efforts. The strikes occurred as the bandits returned from attacking communities in Kano.

Eyewitnesses confirmed several armed men were killed while planning further attacks. Weapons were recovered at the scene. Community members urged the government to focus on rebuilding villages affected by banditry for sustainable peace. Ongoing operations in the area are expected, though the NAF has not issued an official statement.
