Nigerian and Egyptian Armies Strengthen Military Cooperation in Training and Intelligence Sharing
The Nigerian Army and Egyptian Army are enhancing military cooperation through advanced training and intelligence sharing. Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu emphasized the importance of this relationship during a visit from Egyptian Defence Attaché Col.
Mohammed Ibrahim. The partnership has facilitated specialized training for Nigerian officers in Egypt. Both armies plan to deepen collaboration through strategic training programs and joint initiatives, including the upcoming Nigerian Army Day Celebration in July 2026. They are also preparing for a Military Committee Meeting in Cairo later this year, reviewing the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024.
