Nigerian and Egyptian Armies Strengthen Military Cooperation in Training and Intelligence Sharing
The Nigerian Army and Egyptian Army reaffirmed their commitment to enhance military cooperation, focusing on advanced training and intelligence sharing. Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu highlighted the importance of this partnership in preparing personnel for security challenges. The collaboration includes specialized training programs in Egypt and ongoing efforts to expand training opportunities. Plans for the upcoming Military Committee Meeting in Cairo and Nigerian Army Day Celebration in July 2026 were also discussed.

Mohammed Ibrahim. The partnership has facilitated specialized training for Nigerian officers in Egypt. Both armies plan to deepen collaboration through strategic training programs and joint initiatives, including the upcoming Nigerian Army Day Celebration in July 2026. They are also preparing for a Military Committee Meeting in Cairo later this year, reviewing the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024.
