Nigerian Army Intercepts Suspects Linked to Gamboru Market Mosque Bombing in Adamawa State
The Nigerian Army, under 'Operation Hadin Kai', apprehended eight suspects linked to the Gamboru Market Mosque suicide bombing during a cordon-and-search operation in Mubi South Local Government Area, Adamawa State, on January 5, 2026. Among the arrested are two principal suspects identified as key facilitators of the bombing network.
A search of their residence yielded cash, mobile phones, identification documents, and other items undergoing forensic analysis. Additionally, on January 4, 2026, OPHK troops seized 45 jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit, approximately 1,125 litres, suspected to be smuggled for terrorist use in Mayo Nguli, Adamawa State. The operation resulted in no casualties and underscores OPHK's commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and preventing future attacks in the region.
