In Kankara, troops from the 17 Brigade encountered terrorists on March 15, forcing them to flee and abandoning a motorcycle. In Malumfashi, troops responded to intelligence on March 14, engaging terrorists and recovering the AK-47 with ammunition during a follow-up search.

Troops of the Nigerian Army successfully foiled terrorist activities in Katsina State, recovering an AK-47 rifle during operations in Kankara and Malumfashi Local Government Areas. In Kankara, on March 15, troops from the 17 Brigade engaged suspected terrorists along the Kankara-Mabai Road, leading to a gun battle that forced the attackers to retreat, leaving behind a motorcycle.
Separately, in Malumfashi, troops acted on intelligence regarding terrorist activity at Ruwan Sanyi Village on March 14, engaging the suspects and later recovering an AK-47 with 17 rounds of ammunition during a follow-up search. Troops are maintaining a presence in the areas to prevent further attacks.
