Nigerian Navy and NIMASA Enhance Collaboration on Hydrography and Wreck Removal
The Nigerian Navy is seeking improved collaboration with the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) for hydrographic operations to enhance navigation safety in Nigerian waters. Rear Admiral Abdullahi Mustapha, during a visit to NIMASA's headquarters, emphasized the importance of integrating NIMASA's C4i Centre with the Navy's Falcon Eye system for better maritime security.
He noted that NIMASA's Deep Blue Project has significantly supported naval operations. The introduction of two hydrographic vessels, NNS Lana and NNS Ochuzor, will aid in wreck identification and removal, improving safety standards in the maritime sector.
NIMASA's Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, highlighted the role of maritime security in supporting the government's economic diversification objectives.
