The Nigerian Navy has inaugurated a new accommodation facility for senior ratings at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Bonny, Rivers State. The project, which commenced on August 22, 2025, and was completed on December 30, 2025, provides housing for 62 senior ratings, addressing long-standing accommodation shortages.

Rear Admiral Chidozie Okehie, Flag Officer Commanding the Eastern Naval Command, commended the Commanding Officer of FOB Bonny, Commodore Emmanuel Fingesi, for prioritizing infrastructure development. The initiative is expected to enhance morale, discipline, and operational efficiency within the Navy. The new facility is part of broader infrastructural improvements aimed at addressing personnel welfare at the base.
