On April 18, 2026, the Nigerian Navy rescued eight hostages during 'Operation FASAN YAMMA' in Kaduna State. The operation began after troops at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Ibira responded to gunfire along the Doka-Ibira route, engaging violent extremist insurgents and rescuing five victims, four of whom were injured.
A subsequent operation on April 2, 2026, by the 2 National Mission Force Brigade at Anguwan Haske resulted in the elimination of one insurgent and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle. Additional troops at FOB Dokan Karji rescued three more victims from Kushere Village. These efforts illustrate the Nigerian Navy's commitment to countering terrorism and maintaining national security.
