Nigeria's Air Force is progressing on the acquisition of M-346 fighter ground attack aircraft, following discussions with Italian firm Leonardo in Milan on January 19-20, 2025. Chief of Air Staff Sunday Aneke emphasized the program's significance for enhancing precision strike capabilities and pilot training.
A delegation, including officials from the Ministries of Defence and Finance, highlighted the Nigerian government's commitment to airpower modernization as a key aspect of national security. The partnership aims for timely aircraft delivery and comprehensive training to ensure operational readiness.
Aneke also proposed the establishment of a Leonardo Support Office in Nigeria to enhance aircraft availability and technical capacity.
