NATURAL GAS

In January 2026, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) recorded a profit after tax of N385 billion and total revenue of N2.571 trillion, with crude oil and condensate production at 1.64 million barrels per day. Statutory payments to the federation were N726 billion.

Natural gas production improved to an average of 7,283 mmscf/d, attributed to maintenance at the Agbami oil field and Renaissance facilities. However, production was affected by bad weather and asset integrity issues.

The Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben Gas Pipeline project is progressing as planned, with upstream pipeline availability at 96%. Despite these gains, petrol availability at NNPC Retail stations averaged 54% in January. Crude sales included 24.75 million barrels of crude oil and 1 million barrels of condensate.
