Nominal Acquires Fid Labs to Enhance AI Integration in Hardware Engineering
Nominal has acquired Fid Labs to integrate AI into hardware engineering workflows, marking a strategic expansion following an $80 million funding round. This acquisition is aimed at strengthening Nominal's position in the hardware data infrastructure sector.

Nominal announced the acquisition of Fid Labs, a startup specializing in AI agents for robotics and hardware processes. This move follows Nominal's Series B-2 funding of $80 million in March 2026, led by Founders Fund, which valued the company over $1 billion.
Adam Wolnikowski, the founder of Fid Labs, will assume the role of AI Product Lead at Nominal. The integration of Fid Labs' technology is expected to enhance Nominal's offerings in defense, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors. This acquisition is significant as it positions Nominal to leverage AI more effectively throughout the hardware engineering lifecycle.
