Nordic Project Aims to Shift Automotive Repair to Circular Economy
The SCAPINI project seeks to transition automotive repair in the Nordics from linear to circular systems by involving insurance companies in decision-making. This initiative aligns with EU regulations and aims to enhance material security and reduce emissions.

The SCAPINI project aims to facilitate the shift from linear to circular automotive repair in the Nordic region. It includes participation from insurance companies, auto-workshops, dismantlers, digital platforms, research institutes, and industry organizations.
This collaborative effort will deliver five integrated work packages to prepare stakeholders for forthcoming EU regulations, such as the Sustainable Products Regulation and the Circular Economy Act, anticipated by 2026. The project's goals include reducing emissions, lowering repair costs, and enhancing material security, thereby supporting the Nordic Vision 2030 and establishing the Nordics as leaders in circular innovation. This shift may impact industry practices significantly if successful.
