North City Corporation Targets ₹75 Crore Property Tax Recovery from PSUs and Government Bodies
North City Corporation plans to recover over ₹75 crore in property tax from public sector undertakings and government entities, addressing long-standing disputes over exemptions and payments. This initiative is crucial for improving municipal revenue streams and ensuring accountability among public agencies.

The North City Corporation has initiated a recovery effort for more than ₹75 crore in property tax owed by public sector undertakings (PSUs) and government bodies. This includes agencies such as Railways, BESCOM, and BSNL, with some dues dating back over a decade.
The corporation has decided to collect tax dues regardless of existing disputes concerning exemptions and adjustments. Noteworthy debts include ₹29.6 crore from the Wheel and Axle Factory and ₹2.66 crore from Air Force quarters.
Previous collection efforts yielded limited success, and the corporation has now rejected internal accounting methods for settling dues, demanding actual monetary payments instead. The projected revenue from PSUs is estimated at ₹97 crore, with a significant portion stemming from long-standing disputes.
