North Yorkshire Council has successfully retained its Gold Award status under the Ministry of Defence's Employer Recognition Scheme, recognizing its ongoing support for the Armed Forces community. The council's initiatives include workplace flexibility for reservists, funding for local cadet units, and community events like Armed Forces Day. Since signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2011, the council has reaffirmed its commitment in 2021 and 2023, serving nearly 30,000 veterans in the area.
