Northrop Grumman and Hanwha Aerospace Collaborate on AReS Solid Rocket Booster Development
Northrop Grumman and Hanwha Aerospace have signed a memorandum of agreement to develop a solid rocket booster for the AReS program. This partnership aims to enhance long-range strike capabilities amidst rising demand for precision strike systems.

Northrop Grumman and Hanwha Aerospace have initiated a memorandum of agreement to explore the joint development of a solid rocket booster intended for the Advanced Reactive Strike (AReS) program. The collaboration focuses on defining technical requirements and roles rather than committing to full-scale development.
AReS is designed as a ground-based system optimized for engaging targets at long ranges, especially in environments with advanced air defenses. Northrop Grumman's experience in solid rocket motor production will support this effort, while the partnership underscores the growing defense collaboration between the US and South Korea, particularly in missile systems. Both nations aim to enhance supply chains and production capabilities in response to increasing demands for precision strike technologies.
