Northrop Grumman Secures $60M R&D Contract for VEYRON Secure Transceiver Chip Development
Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $59.98 million contract to develop the VEYRON secure transceiver chip, aimed at enhancing digital beamforming applications while addressing supply chain vulnerabilities. The project, managed by the Air Force Research Laboratory, will incorporate on-chip Root of Security features and is scheduled for completion by June 30, 2028. Initial funding of $7 million comes from the Fiscal 2025 Office of the Secretary of War.

Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $59.98 million contract to develop secure semiconductor technology for digital beamforming applications. The VEYRON program will create a digital beamforming transceiver ASIC that incorporates on-chip Root of Security features to mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities.
The contract, awarded to Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, is set to be completed by June 30, 2028. The project is managed by the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, with an initial $7 million in funding from the Fiscal 2025 Office of the Secretary of War. The program aims to enhance military systems reliant on precise signal control while addressing supply chain integrity concerns through secure design practices.
