NRO Develops Interface Standards for Data Integration into DoD's JADC2 System
The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is establishing new interface standards to ensure its data is compatible with the Department of Defense's Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) system. This initiative aims to enable direct data flow from NRO satellites to war fighters. JADC2, being developed by the U.S. Air Force and Space Force, will integrate data from multiple sensors across all domains for military operations. The Space Development Agency is also working on a space-based mesh network to support JADC2 communications.

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is creating interface standards to integrate its data into the Department of Defense's Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) system. This effort is aimed at allowing seamless data transfer from NRO's spy satellites to military operations.
JADC2, developed by U.S. Air Force and Space Force leaders, will connect sensors to shooters, enabling data fusion from various domains. Additionally, the Space Development Agency plans to implement a low earth orbit satellite constellation to facilitate low latency communications for JADC2. A solicitation for the initial satellite tranche is expected by May 1.
