NSE to Launch Dated Brent Crude Futures on April 13, 2026, in Partnership with S&P Global
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has partnered with S&P Global Energy (Platts) to launch NSE Dated Brent Crude futures on April 13, 2026. This follows SEBI's approval for NSE to also introduce Indian natural gas contracts. NSE aims to increase its WTI crude market share from 16% to over 30%. The expansion into energy derivatives is expected to enhance NSE's market presence and competition against MCX.

NSE will launch NSE Dated Brent Crude (Platts) futures on April 13, 2026, in partnership with S&P Global Energy. This initiative follows the recent approval from SEBI and aims to expand NSE's energy derivatives portfolio, including upcoming Indian natural gas contracts.
Currently holding a 16% market share in WTI crude, NSE targets over 30% by the next contract expiry. The introduction of Brent crude and natural gas futures is expected to bolster NSE's competitiveness in the energy market, intensifying rivalry with MCX.
