The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) has created the Drone Killer Cartridge (DKC), achieving a 92% kill rate against drones. The Marine Corps intends to use DKC to enhance capabilities with existing weapons, providing a significant improvement in counter-drone operations while reducing collateral damage.

DKC's design allows for effective engagement at extended ranges and offsets aiming imperfections. Developed using NSWC Crane's internal funding and support from the Department of Homeland Security, DKC can be rapidly integrated, requiring only an ammunition change for deployment. The technology is also available for licensing to commercial manufacturers for various applications beyond military use.
