NTPC Commissions 100 MW at Ramagundam Solar Project, Total Capacity Reaches 89,805 MW
NTPC has announced the commissioning of 100 MW as part of its 176 MW Ramagundam solar project. The company's total installed capacity is now 89,805 MW, moving closer to its FY27 target of 100 GW.

NTPC has successfully commissioned 100 MW of its Ramagundam solar project in Telangana as of May 2, 2026, contributing to a total installed capacity of 89,805 MW. The company plans to add approximately 1,000 MW at Khavda, 200 MW at Bhadla, and around 300 MW from its wind projects in Gujarat, aiming for an additional 2,300 to 2,400 MW in the next two months.
This follows a strong performance in FY26 where NTPC added 468 MW in January alone, bringing its total renewable capacity to 6,615 MW. The Telangana government aims to procure 3 GW of solar energy by 2027, with NTPC's project aiding in meeting the state's Renewable Consumption Obligation targets of an extra 12,000 MW by 2030.
