NV Energy Customer Satisfaction Declines Amid Rate Controversies
Customer satisfaction with NV Energy has dropped significantly among residential and business users in Nevada. This decline coincides with a recent demand rate controversy and overcharging issues affecting the utility's reputation.

NV Energy's customer satisfaction among Southern Nevada residential customers decreased from 93% in 2021 to 77% in the last year. For small and medium-sized businesses, satisfaction fell from 91% to 75%.
In Northern Nevada, residential satisfaction dropped from 94% to 82%, with commercial satisfaction declining from 92% to 81%. The decline follows NV Energy's acknowledgment of overcharging customers approximately $65 million over 20 years and plans to implement a new daily demand rate, which has drawn criticism for potentially discouraging solar investments. The drop in satisfaction is notable despite an increase from a five-year low of 74% statewide in 2023, attributed to rising natural gas prices affecting electricity rates.
