Oba of Benin Appoints Retired Major Obazee as Community Head of Evbonede Village

The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has appointed Pa Friday Uwadiae Obazee, a retired Major of the Nigerian Army, as the new Odionwere of Evbonede village in Edo state. Obazee expressed gratitude for the appointment and committed to fostering development and peace in the community.
The approval was conveyed to elders at the Oba's palace and followed by installation rites conducted at the village's elders' chamber. The ceremony included traditional prayers, the presentation of the ancestral staff, and customary animal sacrifices, performed with assistance from the village's second most senior elder.
