OGDC Discovers Major Natural Gas Reserve in Kohat, Pakistan
OGDC has discovered a significant natural gas reserve in Kohat, Pakistan, expected to produce 26.5 million cubic feet of gas daily. This find, part of the Tol Joint Venture with partners PPL, POL, MOL, and GHPL, aims to enhance energy security and meet domestic demand, reducing reliance on imports and stabilizing energy prices.

A natural gas reserve has been discovered in Kohat by OGDC, which is projected to yield 26.5 million standard cubic feet of gas daily. The reserve was located in the Tol Block through the Billeting-1 well, reaching a drilling depth of 4,004 meters.
The project involves a partnership with PPL, POL, MOL, and GHPL, enhancing operational efficiency and technical expertise. This discovery is expected to improve Pakistan's energy security, reduce dependence on imported fuel, and support the government’s energy self-sufficiency goals. Analysts suggest further exploration in the region to attract more investment in domestic energy projects.
