Oglethorpe Power Selects Kiewit’s TIC as EPC Partner for Monroe County Gas Plant
Oglethorpe Power Corporation has selected Kiewit Corporation's subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the EPC partner for its new combined-cycle natural gas power plant in Monroe County. The facility, set to begin operations in 2029, will have a capacity of 1,425 megawatts and support energy needs across Georgia. The project will create approximately 1,200 construction jobs and 30 permanent positions, contributing significantly to local tax revenues and community development.

TIC will mobilize in Spring 2026 and plans to recruit approximately 1,200 skilled workers during peak construction. Oglethorpe Power is also hiring for 30 permanent positions. The project aims to support long-term energy demand across Georgia while generating substantial tax revenues for local services.
