Oglethorpe Power Corporation has selected Kiewit Corporation's subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the EPC partner for its new combined-cycle natural gas power plant in Monroe County. The plant will have a capacity of 1,425 megawatts and is expected to begin commercial operation in 2029.

TIC will mobilize in Spring 2026 and plans to recruit approximately 1,200 skilled workers during peak construction. Oglethorpe Power is also hiring for 30 permanent positions. The project aims to support long-term energy demand across Georgia while generating substantial tax revenues for local services.
