Oklahoma National Guard Deploys Helicopters and Fire Crews for Wildfire Suppression
The Oklahoma Army National Guard has mobilized helicopters and firefighting crews in response to severe wildfires in northwest Oklahoma. This deployment follows a request from state emergency officials and approval from Governor Kevin Stitt, indicating increased military involvement in climate-related emergencies. The Guard is utilizing UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters with Bambi buckets capable of carrying 660 gallons of water, along with trained wildland firefighting personnel.
