olee.space, an Indian photonics and defense technology company, has successfully demonstrated a 20 km, 10 Gbps Wireless Laser Communication system utilizing approximately 85% indigenous components. The system, designed and tested in India, showcases capabilities for high-capacity optical wireless links suitable for defense applications.

It features precision opto-mechanical subsystems, including an Indian-manufactured gimbal with high pointing precision and a fast steering mirror assembly, ensuring link stability over long distances. The system achieved 99.9999% carrier-grade link availability, addressing operational needs in mission-critical environments.

The project was completed within four months of funding, highlighting the advancement of India's private-sector defense manufacturing. The architecture supports various operational domains, reducing dependence on imported systems and promoting indigenous development in advanced communication technologies.
