Oman Concludes Training of Trainers Programme on International Humanitarian Law with ICRC Support
The Ministry of Defense and the Omani Committee for International Humanitarian Law, in collaboration with the ICRC, completed the final phase of the Training of Trainers Programme on International Humanitarian Law in Muscat, running from January 26 to 28, 2026. This initiative aimed to create a national cadre of Omani trainers to promote IHL within military and national institutions, following earlier phases that began in September 2024 and advanced in November 2025.

The Ministry of Defense and the Omani Committee for International Humanitarian Law, alongside the ICRC, concluded a three-day Training of Trainers Programme on International Humanitarian Law in Muscat from January 26 to 28, 2026. This event marked the final phase of a training cycle initiated in September 2024.
The programme aimed to develop a group of qualified Omani trainers for IHL dissemination in military and national institutions. The initiative coincided with Oman joining the GIIHL, reinforcing compliance with humanitarian norms and enhancing the protection of human dignity. The ICRC acknowledged the commitment of Omani partners in this capacity-building effort.
