Oman LNG Signs Agreement to Build First Locally Manufactured Tugboat with Asyad Drydock and Svitzer
Oman LNG has partnered with Asyad Drydock and Svitzer to construct the country's first locally manufactured tugboat, reinforcing Oman’s maritime capabilities and supporting local businesses. The initiative aims for 50% local content, aligning with Oman LNG's focus on In-Country Value (ICV) and contributing to sustainable industrial ecosystems. The project highlights a commitment to enhancing national capabilities, as evidenced by significant local expenditures in recent years.

Oman LNG has signed an agreement with Asyad Drydock and Svitzer to construct Oman's first locally manufactured tugboat, enhancing the nation's maritime and industrial capabilities. The partnership aims to localize high-value marine assets and is part of Oman LNG's focus on In-Country Value (ICV).
The signing ceremony was attended by key officials, including Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority. The project targets 50% local content, aiming to support local businesses and employment.
In 2025, Asyad Drydock's local expenditure reached approximately RO 46 million, with RO 7.78 million directed to SMEs. The initiative reflects a commitment to national capability building and aligns with the OIA's goals for sustainable industrial ecosystems.
