Ondo Commission Distributes N400M Relief to Ilaje Attack Victims
The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission has begun distributing N400 million in relief materials to communities in Ilaje Local Government Area affected by an alleged attack by the Nigerian Navy. The materials include mattresses, foodstuffs, and household items. The initiative follows a petition from residents seeking investigation into the incident that displaced many. OSOPADEC’s Executive Chairman stated the distribution aims to alleviate suffering and restore stability.

The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission has initiated the distribution of N400 million in relief materials to the communities of Obejedo, Obe-Adun, and Obe-Nla in Ilaje Local Government Area, following an alleged attack by the Nigerian Navy in October. The materials, which include mattresses, foodstuffs, and household items, aim to alleviate the suffering of affected residents.
The Executive Chairman of OSOPADEC, Biyi Poroye, indicated that this effort was in response to the governor's directive after assessing the situation. Additionally, the commission has completed infrastructure projects, including jetties and hospital renovations, and provided economic support through fishing equipment and a bakery.
