Online Oceans Secures £4M to Enhance Maritime Security with Solar-Powered Fleets
Online Oceans has raised £4 million from Seraphim Space to advance its solar-powered autonomous vessels for maritime security. This funding aims to address the growing need for constant surveillance of Britain's coastline, ports, and underwater assets.

Online Oceans has secured £4 million in funding from Seraphim Space to support its development of solar-powered autonomous vessels for maritime security. Founded in early 2025, the company has progressed from prototype to production within a year, focusing on its Scout vessel and Tether command platform for real-time mission management across extensive maritime zones.
The systems are tailored for diverse missions, including anti-submarine operations, border surveillance, and monitoring subsea infrastructures. Initial customers are already secured, with commercial deliveries expected in April 2026.
The company's strategy emphasizes solar power and dense-fleet economics, distinguishing it from competitors in the autonomous vessel market. As maritime security needs escalate, Online Oceans aims to establish itself as a global leader in continuous maritime surveillance.
