Onslow County Board Approves Tetra Tech Contract to Enhance Local Infrastructure with $1.6M Grant
The Onslow County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with Tetra Tech for over $1.3 million to enhance local infrastructure, funded by a $1.6 million Readiness Grant from the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation. Tetra Tech will assess infrastructure needs in the county, focusing on flood-prone areas, wastewater mitigation, and communication redundancies, providing a report to help prioritize infrastructure improvements and secure additional federal and state grants.
Additionally, the board accepted a $5,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation for the Onslow County 4-H Infrastructure Alignment project. The board also established a process for appointing local trustees to the N.C.
Firefighters Relief Fund Board and approved two offers for surplus property sales. A Memorandum of Agreement was signed with the N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts to upgrade courtrooms for remote proceedings.
