OPAIA Group Expands Operations into Mozambique Under CEO Agostinho Kapaia
Agostinho Kapaia, CEO of Angola's OPAIA Group, plans to establish operations in Mozambique, focusing on construction, energy, and industry. This move aligns with Mozambique's growing investment appeal, particularly in natural gas and infrastructure.

Agostinho Kapaia, founder of OPAIA Group, aims to establish a permanent presence in Mozambique, including a local office and subsidiary. The group's focus will span construction, energy, water, industry, and fertilisers.
Their expansion follows a meeting with Mozambican President Daniel Chapo, coinciding with an influx of investment interest in Mozambique's development plans from various business leaders at the Global Tourism Forum Investment Summit. OPAIA Group has previously secured approximately $1.3 billion in public contracts in Angola, raising some scrutiny over procurement practices. Mozambique's emerging status as an investment destination, driven by natural gas developments, presents further opportunities for regional growth for OPAIA.
