Optimal Transit Unveils VITAL 100 MW Kraaken Offshore Energy and Water Project
The Kraaken project aims to generate 100 MW of power and produce 30 million liters of potable water daily, catering to energy and water needs in coastal areas. This innovative platform could revolutionize infrastructure delivery in regions where traditional options are costly or impractical.

The VITAL 100 MW Kraaken project by Optimal Transit seeks to harness temperature differentials in ocean water to generate energy without fuel. It plans to produce 100 MW total, with 40 MW supplied to land, sufficient for around 32,000 homes, while 60 MW supports AI data centers on the platform.
The system also aims to desalinate 30 million liters of water daily, meeting the needs of approximately 150,000 people. The platform's modular design allows multiple units to operate, potentially providing 200 MW and over 150 million liters of water. While ambitious, the project remains conceptual, necessitating further development and validation of its technical feasibility and cost efficiency.
