Orbit2Orbit Partners with Stratoship and Sunburnt Space for Satellite Pathway
Orbit2Orbit has partnered with Stratoship and Sunburnt Space to create a streamlined pathway for small satellite payloads, facilitating their progression from lab testing to stratospheric and orbital missions. This collaboration aims to reduce risk, cost, and time to flight while allowing customers to navigate multiple flight environments without custom campaigns. Initial flights are set for 2026, with plans for a recurring service beginning in 2027, targeting commercial, academic, and defense sectors.

Orbit2Orbit signed a memorandum of understanding with Stratoship and Sunburnt Space to establish a staged pathway for small satellite payloads from lab testing to stratospheric and orbital missions. The agreement integrates Stratoship's flights and Sunburnt Space's launch capabilities, with Orbit2Orbit handling payload integration.
This pathway allows customers to progress hardware through multiple flight environments without bespoke campaigns. The Pathfinder programme aims to reduce risk, cost, and time to flight, facilitating environmental verification and system qualification.
Initial flights will occur on Stratoship's missions, leading to suborbital and orbital hosting. The partnership targets commercial, academic, and defense sectors, with initial Pathfinder capacity allocated for 2026 and a transition to a recurring service planned for 2027.
