The Ordos Municipal People's Government has released the 'Work Plan for High-Quality Development of the Automobile Industry (2025-2028)', aiming to promote 6,000 new energy heavy-duty trucks annually by 2028, including at least 1,000 hydrogen fuel cell trucks. The plan will support multiple energy routes: pure electric, battery swapping, hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell, and methanol.

It emphasizes the development of hydrogen refueling stations and key charging infrastructure. The initiative aims to create a green automobile industry chain linking green electricity, vehicle manufacturing, and new energy vehicle applications, while advancing hydrogen production and storage technologies.

Demonstration projects will focus on hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks and buses, with specific applications in mining and logistics. Additionally, the plan includes expanding methanol fuel systems and establishing a diversified energy supply network.
