ORLEN Begins Production at Rózansko Gas Field in Poland, Targeting 4 bcm Output by 2030

NATURAL GAS

ORLEN has initiated natural gas production at the Rózansko field in West Pomerania, with estimated reserves of 1.2 bcm. This development is part of the expansion of the Debno Oil and Gas Extraction Facility, enhancing output from nearby fields.

The Rózansko field is projected to contribute up to 130 mcm of gas annually and will be operated by ORLEN for approximately 20 years, coinciding with a peak in Poland's natural gas demand. The gas will mainly supply combined heat and power plants in Kostrzyn nad Odra and Gorzów Wielkopolski.

The project includes upgrades to three production wells and a new pipeline to the Debno facility, which now features an 8 MW cogeneration unit for self-sufficiency in electricity and process heat. ORLEN's Strategy 2035 aims for a domestic gas output of 4 bcm per annum by 2030 and seeks to achieve 12 bcm from equity production by the decade's end through international ventures.
