OSGE and Włocławek Sign Agreement for BWRX-300 SMR Plant Construction
Orlen Synthos Green Energy (OSGE) has formalized a cooperation agreement with Włocławek for the construction of up to six BWRX-300 small modular reactors. This development marks a significant step in Poland's nuclear energy strategy and positions Włocławek as a key site for advanced energy generation.

Orlen Synthos Green Energy (OSGE) has signed a cooperation agreement with the City of Włocławek to develop up to six BWRX-300 small modular reactors. In December 2023, the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment granted decisions-in-principle for these projects, allowing environmental studies to begin.
The BWRX-300 reactor, capable of generating 300 MWe, incorporates advanced safety features and is viewed as a pioneering investment in Europe. The project aims to create around 200 direct jobs and generate significant tax revenue, enhancing the economic prospects of Włocławek. The construction of the first unit is expected to be completed by the end of 2030, with further potential for energy-intensive ventures nearby.
