Oura Health Denies Sharing User Data with Palantir Amid Rumors of Surveillance Partnership

In 2025, rumors emerged that Oura Health allowed Palantir Technologies access to Oura ring users' data. This speculation arose from a genuine relationship between Oura and Palantir, stemming from Oura's acquisition of Sparta Science's Trinsic platform in 2024.

Oura has a contract with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) allowing DOD personnel to use Oura rings and share health data voluntarily. Oura stated it has not begun sharing data through Palantir's FedStart platform, which aims to simplify compliance with DOD security standards.

Oura's existing DOD partnership, initiated in 2019, operates independently of Palantir, with the DOD being Oura's largest enterprise customer. Oura confirmed that only authorized personnel would access sensitive data under the DOD's impact level 5 standard, ensuring strict data protection. The company emphasized it has never given Palantir user data access.
