Over $541 Million in Federal Defense Funding for Upstate New York Military Technologies
Upstate New York will receive over $541 million in federal defense funding to enhance military readiness and support emerging technologies. Upstate New York is set to receive over $541 million in federal defense funding aimed at military readiness and emerging technologies. The funding will support aircraft modernization, quantum computing, and next-generation battle technologies. The AFRL in Rome is the largest single investment, focusing on surveillance and quantum information science, vital for national security.
Specific allocations include $194 million for new LC-130J aircraft, $12.5 million for quantum computing at the Griffiss Institute, $10 million for gallium sourcing, $9 million for advanced battle management network technologies, and $8 million for portable cruise missiles. The funding is expected to enhance military readiness and foster economic growth in the region.
