Oves Enterprise Introduces Sahara AI Cruise Missile at BSDA 2026 in Romania
Oves Enterprise showcased the Sahara, a compact AI-enabled cruise missile, at the BSDA 2026, aiming to enhance Romania's precision-strike capabilities. The missile's development reflects a trend towards affordable and agile defense solutions amid rising regional security dynamics.

Oves Enterprise presented the Sahara cruise missile at the Bucharest Security Defense Expo from May 13-15, 2026. Weighing 55 kilograms and powered by a turbojet engine, the missile has a 200-kilometer operational radius and can carry a 10-kilogram payload.
The system integrates AI for autonomous decision-making, utilizing machine learning for target identification and terrain-following capabilities to minimize radar visibility. Despite significant political interest, the company has not confirmed flight testing or procurement interest from Romanian armed forces. If successful, the Sahara could reshape localized defense manufacturing strategies, addressing the need for affordable precision-strike capabilities in a changing security landscape.
