The Oyo State government has commenced the renovation of 36 public primary and secondary schools, targeting aging infrastructure across five geopolitical zones. Under Governor Seyi Makinde's administration, the initiative aims to enhance learning environments and address infrastructural challenges.

The selection of schools is based on a needs assessment emphasizing safety and functionality. Renovation sites include Army Day Secondary School, Iba High School, and several others in local government areas such as Akinyele, Irepo, and Ogbomoso South.
